International Training Workshop on ‘Bamboo-based Production and Enterprise Management
The International Training Workshop on Bamboo-based Production and Enterprise Management aims to impart knowledge and skill sets to people involved in the bamboo sector, in the fields of production and processing, and to enable them to experience “productivity” as an imperative to sustain and develop enterprises. The objective is to produce skilled entrepreneurs, who are knowledgeable in the nuances of bamboo-based production, by providing theoretical and practical training. The workshop will also emphasize the training of trainers so that they in turn help the rural community learn the principles and practice of bamboo-based production and enterprise management. It will include lecture sessions, Power Point presentations and exercises that will equip the participants with strategies, resources and skills required to compete within an industry. Topics for the training would broadly include products development, enterprise management, process flow technique, etc. In order to make the training more meaningful, there would be class-room as well the hands-on sessions. ** INBAR, as an intergovernmental international agency with a focused mandate on bamboo and rattan, has accomplished considerable work in countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America and the Caribbean. ** CIBART: The Centre for Indian Bamboo Resource and Technology (CIBART) was formed in 2002 as a non-profit, networked organization dedicated to development of the bamboo sector in India.
