ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Sustainable Development of Bamboo Industry and Livelihoods, including:
- Protection of bamboo diversity and breeding
- Theory and practice of sustainable management of bamboo
- Bamboo and eco-environment
- Processing and utilization of bamboo
- Social, economic and policy issues of bamboo-producing areas
- Bamboo culture
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
- government policy makers and development workers engaged in sustainable development, conservation and agroforestry initiatives (especially involving bamboo resources);
- college and university academics, students, researchers involved in relevant research, education, and extension works;
- representatives of private sector, NGOs, community & civic organizations, others.
Rooms will be reserved for participants at Qiangwang Hotel in Lin’an City. The hotel offers double-bedded rooms at US$60 per room per night. Our workshop participants will be offered a discount at US$50 for each room per night. The accommodation charge is not included in the registration fee.
The registration fee is US$300 for each of the workshop participants and US$150 for his/her accompanying person. Both cash and check are acceptable at the reception desk on the registration day.
IMPORTANT DATES
The deadline for pre-registration and receipt of the presentation
title is September 15, 2007. The deadline for receipt of abstracts is July 31, 2007. The 2nd circular announcement for the conference will be delivered before September 30, 2007. Registration day is November 13, 2007.

Mid-November is the transit of autumn to winter
in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. The average temperature is about 15~20C.
